The Meaning of Vanlife won the prestigious Best Foreign Documentary at the renowned Arizona International Film Festival, Tucson’s biggest competitive showcase of independent films from around the world. In two sell out shows, it found a crossover audience of young travelers intent on redefining their expectations surrounding home ownership and freedom, and an older audience of baby boomers, reliving the stories of their youth through the compelling stories on screen.

The Meaning of Vanlifefollows Jonny Dustow and Jared Campbell, creators of the global Instagram community Vanlife Diaries, as they set out to connect with with 'vanlifers' around the world to discover the spirit, struggles and philosophies that define the movement.

Bringing together a community of more than 450,000 worldwide followers, Vanlife Diaries tapped into a growing society of people living on the road and off grid.

From the simplicity of sharing music and stories on the road, to a sociological discussion about why sub cultures like Vanlife are so important for this new generation - this documentary gets it's wings from the perspectives within the community itself, in an adventurous, revealing look into a global phenomenon.

The Meaning of Vanlifeis written & directed by Jim Lounsbury. Produced by Jim Lounsbury, Lynette Lounsbury & Dustin Clare.  Distributed and presented by Fighting Chance Films.
